The Dudenville Gazette serves communities in southwest Missouri. Originally focused on the Maple Grove and Dudenville areas of northeastern Jasper and southwestern Dade with nearby portions of Barton and Lawrence counties when founded in 1998, the Gazette expanded in focus when relaunched in fall 2022 to include further surrounding areas such as Golden City, Lockwood, Miller, Greenfield, Avilla and all of Dade County.
The Pierce City Leader-Journal was formed in 1919 with the merger of the Peirce City Leader and Peirce City Journal, whose earliest ancestors (the Peirce City Record and Peirce City Empire, respectively) dated to 1875. Today, the Leader-Journal serves the Pierce City area in Lawrence, Barry and Newton counties of Missouri, including the communities of Wentworth, Freistatt, Stotts City and vicinity.
Both publications are part of Ozark Prairie Independent Media, Inc., a Missouri not-for-profit corporation focused on the preservation of rural news outlets in the region.
